New Albany gets 27 second half points from Shettles to cruise past Holly Springs at Hotbed
Mitchell Shettles had a hard time getting in a rhythm in the first half against perrenial North Mississippi power Holly Springs at Saturday’s Hotbed Classic. The Junior sharpshooter went 1 for 6 from three point range for a total of five first half points.
He turned things around in a hurry in the second half.
Shettles hit all four of his three point attempts and knocked down 13 second half free throws on his way to a game high 32 points, MVP honors and a 78-66 victory for his team,
In the first half, most of the dame was done by drives into the paint by speedster Isaiah Ball, who had 10 points before halftime.
Ball finished with 14 while Artaveion High had 12 points and 7 rebounds.
The win moved New Albany to 16-9 on the season. They are in action tonight against Corinth in a division matchup.
