Four Union County Squads Gear Up for Playoff Volleyball

We have officially reached the homestretch for volleyball season as postseason play begins on Tuesday across Mississippi. As expected, Union County enters with strong representation in this particular postseason with four squads vying for a chance at a state championship in East Union, Ingomar, Myrtle, and New Albany.

Below, each team will have its record, final division standing, and first round playoff opponent listed.

East Union Urchins

Record: 15-9 overall, 2-2 in division play

Playoff seed: #2 seed from Region 1-2A

First Round Opponent: at Riverside Bulldogs (11-9 overall, 6-0 in division)

Ingomar Falcons

Record: 14-7-1 overall, 4-0 in division play

Playoff seed: #1 seed from Region 1-1A

First Round Opponent: vs. McEvans Warriors (4-3 overall, 2-2 in division)

Myrtle Hawks

Record: 12-8-1 overall, 3-3 in division play

Playoff seed: #2 seed from Region 2-2A

First Round Opponent: at Choctaw County Chargers (9-9-2 overall, 5-1 in division)

New Albany Bulldogs

Record: 19-10 overall, 8-0 in division play

Playoff seed: #1 seed from Region 1-4A

First Round Opponent: vs. Senatobia Warriors (9-8-2 overall, 4-2 in division)
