East Union picked up a hard fought victory over Myrtle at the Union County Tournament on Thursday.
They can thank a big third quarter run as the catalyst that ensured they moved on.
The Urchins built on their halftime lead with a 21-10 third quarter capped off by a driving Josh Henderson and-1 layup and held off a furious Hawk rally late to move on with a 60-54 victory.
Noah Johnson led East Union with 13. Hayden Roberts and Henderson went for 12. Rhett Johnson had 10.
AI Nugent led all scorers with 21. Elijah Thompson finished with 13.
