New Albany Football: Bulldogs vs. Itawamba Agricultural Ruled No Contest, Sept. 11, 2026
NEW ALBANY, Miss. — New Albany got a field goal, a touchdown and a halftime lead on Friday night. Officially, none of it happened.
The Bulldogs’ home game against Itawamba Agricultural was stopped by weather midway through the third quarter and ruled a no contest, wiping the night off both teams’ records. New Albany stays 1-1 and moves on to Caledonia.
How the New Albany–Itawamba Agricultural game unfolded
New Albany opened the scoring with a short field goal and led 3-0 after the first quarter.
The Bulldogs doubled it up in the second. Junior quarterback Kam Ray found senior receiver Jay Boone on a short touchdown pass on third-and-goal from inside the 5, putting New Albany up 10-0 with eight minutes left in the half.
Itawamba Agricultural answered right before the break. Xavier Waters scored on a 10-yard run out of a full-house backfield with a second left in the second quarter, and the Bulldogs took a 10-7 lead into halftime.
The Indians flipped it in the third, taking a 14-10 lead. The game was called midway through the quarter with Itawamba Agricultural in front, and it was later declared a no contest.
What a no contest means for the Bulldogs
A no contest is not a win, a loss or a tie. The game is treated as though it was never played, so New Albany’s record remains 1-1 and nothing from Friday night counts toward season statistics.
That means Ray’s touchdown pass, Boone’s touchdown catch and Waters’ 10-yard run all disappear from the official books — as does New Albany’s 10-7 halftime lead over a team that came in unbeaten.
