Ingomar girls get hard fought win in split against Ripley.
Ingomar faced a tough test in early season basketball action, traveling to Ripley to take on the Tigers in boys and girls action. The hype leading up to the games was warranted, with close contests in both the boys and girls slate.
The defending state champion Lady Falcons came away with a 55-45 win against a very talented Ripley team. In a back and forth contest, the deciding factor was senior point guard Gara Beth Self who poured in a game high 31. The win moved the Lady Falcons to 5-1 on the year.
In the boys night cap, the two teams clashed all night in a battle that saw numerous lead changes throughout. The Falcons ultimately fell 52-47. Ingomar was led by Trent Bradley’s 14 and Zach Shugars’ 12. The loss was their first of the season, putting their record at 5-1.
Ingomar is back in action Thursday against Hickory Flat.
