East Union gets scoring from 9 players as they roll past Kossuth at Hotbed
East Union jumped out to a 38-23 halftime lead thanks to a near double double from Weston Mallette and never looked back in their 68-45 victory over Kossuth at the Hotbed Classic on Saturday.
The Urchins were the opening game of the day with an 8:30 a.m. tip-off but they showed no signs of slugishness, gaining a 22-12 first half lead in rebounds thanks to 7 boards apiece from Mallette and Colton Plunk.
In the second half, DeJuan Hubabrd was able to get into a scoring position at will, racking up nine points in the third quarter en route to being named the games MVP.
Hubbard led all scorers with 15. Plunk finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds while Mallette ended with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
The win moved the Urchins to 12-11 on the season. They are in action next against New Site in division action.
