Myrtle’s Streich leading state in strikeouts

Myrtle softball is ranked among the states best, as high as #1 in the state via some publications.

One of the key cogs to their success has been the skill of their dynamic freshman pitcher, Caylie Streich.

Streich leads 1A in strikeouts by a pitcher by a wide margin. The freshman hurler has notched 116 K’s on the year, 40 more than the next closest pitcher.

Success on the mound is no surprise to the freshman. She finished last season in the top 10 in 1A in strikeouts as an 8th grader.

Myrtle is undefeated in their division this season and looking to wrap up a division championsip with a win against Pine Grove on Monday.
