Kinsley Gordon nets 21 second half points to lead Myrtle to win over Smithville
The Myrtle Lady Hawks got their first win of the season thanks to a stellar second half effort from Sophmore dynamo Kinsley Gordon.
Trailing 24-19 at the half to the Smithville Lady Seminoles, Gordon took control in the second half pouring in 21 points to finish with a game high 30 in leading Myrtle to a 56-44 victory.
Lexie Hutcheson contributed 12 points. Brianna Smith netted 8 while Raykiah Strickland chipped in 6 points.
In boys action, the Hawks fell to the visiting Seminoles 69-39. Myrtle trailed 17-8 after the first quarter and were never able to grab the lead in the contest.
The Hawks and Lady Hawks return to basketball action Tuesday against Vardaman.
