Preview: Myrtle vs. Marshall Academy

The Myrtle Hawks will look to build off their first postseason appearance in school history when they kickoff their 2020 season against Marshall Academy.

The biggest story around the Hawks is losing star halfback A.I. Nugent in a transfer to New Albany. However, this Myrtle team still has a talented back in waiting.

Ethen Hunt can be expected to carry the load this season after being a incredibly efficient runner behind Nugent. The offense also returns its signal caller in Jackson Meyer.

As for the defense, Shelton Graves and Connor Coleman return as the second and third leading tacklers from last season to anchor an experienced defense.

The Hawks finished 6-6 last season en route to a third-place finish in the division, and they now look to have a playoff streak for the first time in school history.
