Game Preview: New Albany at Corinth
A potential division-deciding matchup will take place on Friday as the New Albany Bulldogs travel to take on the defending 4A state champion Corinth Warriors in division 1-4A play.
New Albany comes into the matchup with a record of with losses to Pontotoc and Hernando. The Bulldogs have claimed victory over Booneville, Amory, and North Pontotoc.
Corinth also sits at 3-2 with losses on the year coming at the hands of Olive Branch and Madison-Ridgeland Academy. The Warriors have defeated Holly Springs, Kossuth, and Tishomingo County in 2020.
Fans are sure to expect two ground-focused offensive attacks.
The Bulldogs will look to feed off the great play of halfbacks C.J. Hill and A.I. Nugent. Meanwhile, Corinth will operate through their “Wing-T” offense that helped guide them to a championship in 2019.
This matchup will be the biggest of the season for both squads. The winner will then look towards a matchup with the Ripley Tigers, who sit at 2-0 in division play.
Kickoff will take place at 7:00 p.m. on October 16 from Corinth, Mississippi.
