Ole Miss Gains Commitment from Five-Star Punter
On Monday, punter Daniel Bethel announced his commitment to play for Ole Miss in 2021 and beyond on Twitter.
The senior is ranked as the #21 punter and #40 kicker in his class by Kohl’s, which is a recruiting service that specializes in kickers and punters.
Bethel released a larger statement on his commitment to the Rebels as well.
“First I would like the thank God for giving me the ability to kick and have all these opportunities,” Bethel wrote via Twitter. “I want to thank my parents for taking me to camps, training and supporting my dream of becoming a D1 punter. To ACHS, you guys arwe family, I love our team and our school. To James Wilhoit, you started me kicking and showed me the Wilhoit way, and I’m glad I’m in the elite group of Tennessee specialists. With that, I’m proud to announce my commitment to play in the SEC with my good friend Caden Costa at Ole Miss. Thank you Coach (Blake) Gideon and Coach (Lane) Kiffin for the opportunity.”
When asked about his commitment, Bethel cited his love for campus and the opportunity to play on the big stage of the SEC as his top reasons for committing.
Bethel is also great friends with fellow Ole Miss-commit kicker, Caden Costa.
